Slacker

So I've been a terrible blogger lately. It' more that I haven't had anything much to talk about and the couple of things I've wanted to say never seemed to shape up well enough for me to publish them. But yesterday me and Lisa went down to Salt Lake to see the Body Worlds exhibit. It was great! We took the train down and totally enjoyed the whole cosmopolitan aspect of taking the train and walking and such. So body worlds was awesome! If you want more info click here.

After the exhibit me and Lisa went to a late lunch/old people dinner at our favorite Salt Lake restaurant Ztejas. It's so so yummy! Yeah that's really all I have to say for a much more clever and interesting recap (with pictures) of our day out check out Lisa's blog.

Boring Friday Night

So I'm sitting here in my basement watching my Bravo reality TV and thinking about how boring my life is. My highlight of this Friday night was making a lemon meringue pie. For those of you who don't know my grandma makes the worlds best lemon meringue pie and last year I had her teach me how to make it. I have done pretty well but I haven't been able to get the meringue as good as my grandmas until tonight! I FINALLY got the meringue right! I was so excited I took pictures! As you can see by the picture there on the left I got it all nice and pretty and brown!


I also got it super high and fluffy! As evidence by this picture. I also got it to make little peaks which is my favorite part of meringue. Which you will see in the third picture. Yes this is in fact how I've been spending my Friday night. Making pie, doing my laundry and watching TV. I'm so exciting I scare myself. And guess what tomorrow my big plan is to go shopping for a new sunglasses since my favorite old ones broke on Thursday. =(

Disgusting

This is so sad and scary it makes my stomach sick, people can be so ignorant and stupid.

Snow

I can't believe I woke up this morning to like 6 inches of snow on the ground. It's only the 2nd week of October! Craziness. I hope this doesn't mean that fall is over because fall is totally my favorite season.

BASH!!!

So yesterday I spent the day at the 14th Annual X96 Big Ass Show. This year was the first time they did the show some place other than the Utah State Fair Park (*Correction-it was moved last year due to weather) and honestly I was a little apprehensive I thought it wouldn't be as good out at USANA Amphitheater but I was wrong. It was totally just as good if not better. I definitely felt better after I didn't feel disgusting and dirty, I don't think I was as tired either. The sound was way better than it was out at the fair park. The bands were awesome and my ears are still ringing so all in all I would say it was a very good day.

The bands were all pretty good. Mindless Self Indulgence (who I had never really heard of before) were great they put on a way fun show. 10 Years were good lots of energy and fun. Trapt was awesome, the lead singer is totally hot so of course that helps. =) Hawthorne Heights were great too. Lots of energy and got the crowd exciting. We were down right next to the pit for them and it was crazy. I think a girl even got her teeth knocked out. I've never really understood how slamming into each other makes a concert a great time but some people seem to love it. So to each their own.

I'm such a geek

OH MY GOSH!!! I love the Office!!! Just watched the season premier and WOW! So great! Jim and Pam and hilariousness!!! That is all I'm just totally excited.

Marcus!!!

So I just got back from watching Marcus (the 2nd place finisher in last comic standing). He was filming a DVD special in Ogden tonight and me and Stephanie (a girl I work with) decided to go and it was AWESOME!!! Marcus is so hilarious and he had wolf from American Gladiators hosting it was amazing! Can you tell I'm excited? Being as I keep using exclamation points! I also got a picture with the hotness that is Marcus AND the bad ass-ness that is Wolf! (They aren't on my camera or they would be posted with this, I'll put them up as soon as I get them.) If you haven't seen anything Marcus has done you should totally check him out he's great. Newest Obsession

So I've decided that I become easily obsessed with things because I'm totally obsessed with the show Dexter lately. I rented the first couple discs of the first season and I was hooked. So I went out and bought the seasons that are out and have been watching them almost nonstop. It's not something I think everyone would enjoy seeing as it's a show about a serial killer. But he's the coolest serial killer ever! I'm not even half way through season 2 but I am already stoked for the new season that starts at the end of the month!

I don't think I have anything else to say really. Life has been pretty boring in my neck of the woods. I did go out with a couple girls from work on Saturday it was great fun! It's a little sad cause it was kind of a going away party for one of my very favorite coworkers. She's moving on Thursday and that makes me sad. We talk all day via email and it sometimes really helps the day go by quicker. But she gets email on her phone so it may continue once she moves but certainly not to the extent that we do it now.

TV Time

So I started watching this season of Project Runway partially because of the fact that there was a guy from Utah on it. The other part was I knew I would end up watching all the episodes anyway some Sunday when Bravo did a marathon right before the season finale. So anyway I totally was routing for the Utah guy cause A) he's from Utah and well it's always good to see people from my neck of the woods winning reality shows, B) he's totally cute, gay but still cute, C) he's from Utah but is all covered n tattoos and stuff which is totally fun, and finally D) I like the first couple of designs I saw from him.

However the more I listened to him talk the less I liked him. He came across as a whiny pompous asshole. He seemed to think he was better than everyone else. Mostly he just bugged me I don't know that there is much of a basis for my feeling but it's how I felt. So last week he was in the bottom for this horrendous feathery concoction. So he made a choice this week to try and do something different which he did it didn't look like him it looked terrible, unprofessional and poorly made. Needless to say he got kicked off this week. Which made me kind of happy. I realize that no one probably cares about this I just wanted to say that I was Project Runway this week made me happy.

Family Reunion

So my mom's side of the family had a little reunion get together up the canyon at my great aunt's cabin. The river runs right next to their cabin so we go tubing down the river when we have anything at the cabin. So it started out nice and kinda mellow just lazily floating down the river. Then I ran into a tree and popped my tube. Luckily we had a little kid who could ride with his dad so we just towed the tube I was on. We had some family camping about halfway down our trip, my cousin and her little baby (almost 2) got out and that gave us an extra tube which was good. So then we got going on the harder part of the river which I didn't really realize was the harder part. I guess I was just expecting more of the same and well the first big section of rocks knocked me out of my tube. I went down the rocks holding my tube in one hand and got beat up by rocks the whole way down. Luckily I didn't hit my head or anything and my uncle was there at the bottom to grab my tube so I could settle down and get back on it. That didn't last for long though me on my tube. Another section of rocks that beat up my arms and legs but missed my head. Then there was a spot where I could stop and catch my breath and out on the road my cousin had stopped which gave me the great chance to climb out and quit right there which I did. Over all it was fun but I don't think I'll be jumping in to do it again anytime soon. Oh I tried to get a picture of my bruises but apparently I'm too pale you can't see the purple at all on the camera.

New Look!

So I found this new layout that I liked I think it's cute and maybe a little more me than the old one so let me know if you like it. =) I don't really have anything else. Oh except maybe I should tell you all about my latest little obsession. I've decided that I really love Seth Rogen. I have read and watched a few interviews with him lately and well I totally think he's the funniest guy. I'm super excited for his next couple movies. (Pineapple Express and Zach and Miri Make a Porno, specifically) Oh in case you don't have any idea who I'm talking about here's a picture. =)

Update

So I don't have anything interesting to say but I thought I should write a little update about my boring life. I don't think I've said anything about this but a while ago (like 6 months or so) I applied for a promotion at work and guess what I got it! Yay for me! Well I have know that I got the job for a while but I couldn't say anything because they hadn't officially announced it. Well like 2 weeks ago my boss actually announced it so it's all official and stuff I start doing my loan interviewer duties the second week in August. I will actually most likely be doing teller stuff too since they haven't found a replacement for me yet. But it's still exciting. I'm really excited because I will have an office! Yep an office with a door and everything! It'll be cool.

Oh I was going to post a recount of my trip to Montana but frankly I'm not that interested in doing it. I may post some pictures here before too long if I get bored. I'll just say this it was fun it was quick and it was a lot of driving.

Sleep would be nice...

I'm sitting here in my hotel room thinking I should get up and get ready for bed but it so much effort and sitting here feels so nice. So I thought I would write a little blog about my visit to Montana so far.

I think the main thing I've gathered from this trip is it's a nice place to visit but I sure as hell wouldn't want to live here. I think I'm much more of a big city girl at heart, despite the fact that I come from the country. I guess I just like places with a little more going on you know movies and malls and art galleries and restaurants and such. I do love the lakes though I wish there were more lakes down home because it makes for beautiful drives.

Spending time with the family has been nice I don't get to see the Montana part of the family very often so getting to sit and chat with them is a nice change of pace. I think I'm almost ready for the trip home though. It's been a long couple of days lots of driving and eating bbq. Well I think thats it for now I'm sure I might have more to say after we've had a bit more of the trip.

Just for Nate and Kimberly

So I'm getting ready for a trip to Montana and it made me think that I should post a couple pictures from my favorite trip I've ever taken. Back in May of 2007 me and my aunt Julie went to Philidelphia, New York and New Jersey. One of her friends was having a wedding/anniversary party so we made a nice long trip out of it. So enjoy some pictures.

Here is a trendy little part of Philly, I think it would be cool to live there. Also I took a picture of Ben Franklin's grave...You can't really tell it's Ben Franklin's grave but I thought it was cool that people throw pennies on his grave.


We spent most of our trip in New York which made me happy because it's one of my favorite places in the world. We wanted to go see Wicked but it was sold out. Which is why this picture made me kind of sad. This was right outside our hotel window...

Washington Square Park is one of my favorite places in the city it's a great place to people watch. I could have spent hours and hours sitting on the benches watching people walk around.

I decided on this trip that if I were to move to New York I would like to live in a place like this.
I know this blog probably looks terrible... I'm just trying to get it to look okay with that many pictures. Oh so if I lived in New York I would think it would be really cool to get married in Central Park probably ridiculously expensive but it would be cool. This is where I would get married.

Central Park has got to be the coolest place on earth. On the outsides you get the city but in the center you are in the middle of the forest.

Okay this was one of my favorite things I saw while I was there this person had a little lawn jockeys all over their front step. No lawn but dozens of lawn jockeys...Odd.

I also got to see Strawberry Fields and the John Lennon memorial! It made me feel very hippieish and proud. I also saw the place John Lennon was assasinated it was sad.

The coolest thing I think I saw though the whole time we were there was Lucy the Worlds Largest Elephant. It used to be a house! Now it's just a museum but you get to go inside and look around and go up to the top and you can see the whole city and the ocean. It's pretty nifty! If you are ever near Margate New Jersey I suggest you check it out. Well that's all I have to say I suppose. That good Nate? Now you know I expect a comment on this. =)

Game Night Crew

I don't know if anyone reading this knows or not but I have a pretty bitchin group of friends. They are the kind of people who are always there for you and listen to all my little problems and they can always make me laugh. What more could you ask for in a group of friends? I don't think there is anything.

So we had our game night last night and it was kind of odd because we didn't actually play any games. That's okay though because we totally had fun anyway. We sat around all the dinner table and talked for hours. It was so great. We make each other laugh and that always makes for a great time. So yeah this is kind of a lame post but I guess all I really wanted to say was that I love my friends. They are the most awesome people I know.

My Birthday!

So today has been a pretty freaking awesome birthday. I didn't really do anything special but it's been pretty good. I had to work today but that's okay cause I love my coworkers and my job is pretty cool so it works. Then my mommy came and took me out to lunch. We had Chinese. Yum. Then after work I rushed to meet the family for Mexican food for dinner. :D After dinner we went to see my grandma and then I finally got to come home and open presents! Hooray for presents. I got a cute outfit and movies and CD's! What more could a girl want really? I can't think of much. Oh and I got a totally cute purse from my best friend Mary maybe I'll take a picture and post it on here. Not right now because I'm tired and need to go to bed. But soon.

Geeking Out!

So I've spent this Sunday laying around the house watching TV and a movie and such so really it's been a good day. Anyway the reason for this post is pretty silly. Because I was watching CSI and they had Adam and Jamie from Mythbusters guest starring so I was being a total geek cause not only was I digging the CSI episode AND the Mythbusters silent cameo! So I think that pretty much makes me one of the biggest geeks I know. But I don't think I'm a geek in the way that is most commonly associated with being a geek.




Oh and speaking of being a geek I totally want to go see Ironman again! It was totally awesome. I would go see it 10 more times probably if I could afford it. Robert Downey Jr. is AMAZING! He kicks so much ass! I mean he's hot, he's funny, he's charming and he plays a really smart guy! What more could a girl ask for? And besides there are explosions and cool weapons and even a hot guy in a uniform! (Terrance Howard) So there is my geeky TV and movie report for the day lol. Enjoy!

So designing this room is how I spent my afternoon at work. Isn't it pretty darn cool? I think so. I love that I get to play around on the internet at work. It's pretty awesome. Another Confession

Since no one is reading this I am going to go ahead and write down a pretty embarrassing confession. I secretly love to watch Hilary Duff movies. Even though I know they are terrible and I shouldn't waste my time but I just can't help myself. And really it's not just Hilary Duff movies it's any teenage comedies or drama's or whatever. Anything that's marketed to 13 year old girls I eat up with a freaking spoon.

I think it must have something to do with the fact that when I was a 13 year old girl I despised all those things because well I wanted to be edgier or cool and didn't want to seem my age I wanted to be more mature and cool and whatever. So now that I'm over all that kind of stuff I enjoy reliving my misspent youth. I know that probably doesn't make any sense but who cares.

Babysitting

So today I went and baby sat the super adorable Bridget Waldron so her parents could have a little alone time. It was fun she is one of the cutest little babies in the world and she likes me who doesn't I mean really. I'm totally the coolest. So we had a great time playing and laughing for about an hour and a half then she got a little fussy so I laid her in her swing and she cried for a few minutes then took a nap. It was after she woke up from her short nap that things weren't so great. See she was hungry but wanted mommy not the bottle I had for her so nothing I was doing was making much of a difference. It was okay overall though cause like I said she is super adorable. As soon as her parents got home she was much better and I stayed and had a nice dinner with them. Then I stayed and sat on the couch with them for a few hours and we watched some home renovation shows all in all a pretty productive Saturday for me. Rock In UVU

So tonight I went down to Orem and saw the Rock in UVU show. It was a free concert which is pretty sweet. I had tried to win ticket but hadn't been able to get anything so I was not gonna go even though Story of the Year one of my favorite bands was playing. But one of my coworkers is the most awesome person ever and had some tickets she wasn't using so she gave em to me! Hooray for me! So I took my friend Steph and we drove down there and we had a blast!

Story of the Year are my favorite band. They kick ass. I'm really excited for their new album which is out in 2 weeks! Wahoo! It'll be fun I'm sure. It was also interesting tonight because I saw a couple of guys that I went to school with working security. It was pretty funny cause one of them got into it with some punk kid who was wanting to throw punches. I was laughing. I'm sorry this is lame. All I really wanted to say is Story of the Year is great and I love seeing them preform live. Hells yeah.

OCD

I just had a mini melt down in my bathroom that made me realize how completely OCD I actually am. So my mom has hired a cleaning lady to come once a month or so and it started today. Well I noticed that the basement was cleaner I just figured it was my mom or the lady vacummed and dusted or something.

So anyway to the point of my story. I just went into my bathroom and noticed that stupid little things were out of place like the rug was off center. Which I just moved cause well I like it centered it looks better that way. Then I notice that she had put my stuff away. Okay whatever you put my flat iron in the drawer and put the blowdryer cord away I could deal with that. I wouldn't necessarily like it but whatever if you feel that's necessary go for it. I would even be maybe okay with putting my makeup bag and mouthwash under the sink. I don't like it and that's not where shit goes but I'd deal. The problem I have is when you rearrange things!

When you rearrange all my shit that pisses me off! The soap goes on one side and the toothbrush goes on the other thats pretty basic stuff don't mess with my stuff like that. It ain't your fucking job to rearrange my shit! Just clean and put things back where they go! I don't come into your house and move all your shit around!

Does that make me crazy cause I feel kinda crazy being all irritated about this but I think I just was irritated because there was someone I don't know being all up in my shit. It bugs to have people moving all my stuff around. GRRRRR!!!!

Baby Baby

So I was reading this article today about surrogate mothers it made me think that it would be a pretty cool thing to do. http://www.newsweek.com/id/129594

I mean it would take a lot for someone to make that kind of sacrifice no sacrifice isn't quite the right word. Maybe selfless gift is a better way to put it. I don't know it just gives me an awesome respect for humanity that there are people in the world who would be willing to give birth to someone else's child.

I would like to think that I am that type of person. I say I would like to because I'm not sure I am that type of person. I mean I think I'm a good person but I don't know if have that capacity for giving and being selfless. I think it would probably depend on if I had children of my own or not. I would think that maybe it would be easier to detach if I could differentiate between the child I'm having for me and the child I would be having from someone else. But I don't know I often have trouble seeing myself as a mother so I think it might make it easier for me to do that for someone if I knew I wasn't going to have my own kids.

Anyway the reason for this rambling post is that I think it's really cool that people do this and I think I could see myself doing it if conditions were right in my life. I don't know what would make those conditions right but I think maybe someday if the opportunity arose I could totally see myself doing it.

Boring

So I had a blog started about the weird dream I had a couple nights ago but well I decided that I don't like how it was coming out. It is a lot better story when I can just tell it with the emphasis in the right places and with hand jesters and my embarrassed looks and such. So if you really want to hear the story just talk to me. I think I may be making it sound more interesting than it really is.

Well my real intention for today is to lament about my boring life. So I did actually do something today, I went to lunch with my two best friends today. Which was totally cool! We did it like total adults too. We went to Bistro 258 it was totally fancy and yummy. Then we went shopping and I bought two totally cute tops. Which is super cool cause well they are really cute. =) Oh and I flirted with a cute guy who works at Mervyn's and well that was fun.

I came home from that though and I've been sitting here on my butt watching TV and I think that it's not a total waste of a Saturday. Well maybe it is but I don't care. It's how I like to spend my time off work, doing nothing and loving it.

Meet Pugsley!

So I've been housesitting/dogsitting for my aunt for a few days and I thought I would show you the cute little dog that I've been watching. Her name is Pugsley. Here's a picture.

So we had game night last night and it was totally fun. We only ended up playing two games but we had a lot of fun eating the fajitas that I kind of winged but they turned out pretty good. So if anyone reads this thanks for coming I love you all! I'm a little hung over but it's all good.

Geeking out

So I'm totally geeking out right now watching a dumb movie and it's great I've got a margarita in one hand and some peanut m&m's and I think as soon as this movie is done I think I'm gonna take a nice long hot bath then go to bed. I'm a total dork cause well if I admited what movie I'm watching you would laugh at me. But well I'm gonna say cause it's funny. I'm watching the Perfect Man the one with Heather Locklear and Hilary Duff. Yes I like Hilary Duff movies shut up! It's not a crime is it? And well I'm in the mood for something silly and girly so whatever it was on when I turned on the TV and it seemed good. And so far it is pretty good so I'm happy. House Sitting

So I'm sitting here on my aunt's couch watching her TV and wishing I could figure out her wireless card so I could connect better to the internet. I'm stealing someone's wireless signal right now and it's not a great signal so it's going in and out so this will have to be brief. I don't know if I'm going to like this living with a dog thing. It's like living with a child who can't talk except I'm not allergic to kids. Oh well it's only for a few days so we'll be fine I'm sure. Well I should probably go and get ready for bed cause I've gotta get up early in the morning. Hooray for meetings and half hour commutes!

So this is going to be a quick post I'm just so happy my favorite little girls are in world are in town to visit! I just sat and played with the 2 of them for a couple hours and it makes me so happy. Oh and my best friend Mary is here too lol! It's a good day.

Latest Fascination

So I have been watching a lot of Mythbusters lately. Which isn't really anything new I have liked the show since I first saw it but now I watch it like everyday. I'm just a little concerned with my crush on one of the Mythbusters. I have a total and complete crush on Mythbuster Tory and I think I figured out today why I like him so much. He has this total childlike curiosity about him and he seems very easily fascinated by things and I love that. It makes me smile when I see people act like that cause I love being around people who so easily find joy in the smallest things.

Well that's my little fascination and really it's probably more about me than you needed to know but whatever it's all good. I have only the tiniest bit of shame about it and I think that shame is only because I've been totally mesmerized by it lately. I just realized that most of you probably have no idea who it is I'm talking about so here's a picture of him just so you have an idea who I'm talking about and maybe it make you more confused than not but so be it. =)

Nothing new

So I wish I had some interesting things to blog about but my life is so uneventful that I don't have anything to say about it. All I do is work, sleep and watch movies and TV. I know it's kinda sad but you know I'm happy so I guess it's alright. No there's no guessing about it I am happy at least most of the time and really you can't expect more than being happy most of the time right? Right.

Confession

So I have a confession to make. It's a really dumb confession but I am inspired to make it right now, it is gonna take a little explaining so if you know me you know that I like movies, I try and like a wide assortment of films. Usually though my favorite movies are the ones that most people think aren't that clever or well done or whatever. I mean I like a movie that is exciting with lots of action and special effects and whatnot. But lately I've been trying really hard to get into those weird kinda arty movies that people make either before they are stars or after they've really made it, you know like well I actually can't think of an example off the top of my head. But anyway I just rented Rushmore and watched it for the first time...I have to say deep in my heart I was not impressed really cause everyone (all the "cool" artsy people that I want to be like) think it's one of the greatest movies ever, and well I was kinda bored and truthfully if it weren't for the fact that I'm kinda hot for Jason Schwartzman I probably wouldn't have watched that so intently.

Well I just sat and watched Bottle Rocket which stars the Wilson brothers (Owen and Luke) it was the first thing they did acting wise. Owen also wrote it with Wes Anderson who wrote Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums. I watched it mostly because I love Luke Wilson, I will watch literally anything he is in. (So hot!!) I didn't really know anything about the movie before I watched it other than it was kinda indie and had the Wilson's in it. Well about half-way through I started to get bored and was wondering what the hell the point of the movie was and I was kinda bored.

So I guess this brings me to my confession, I am a poser. I pretend to like certain movies just because they are popular with a certain type of crowd. And you know I don't really think it's a problem. I mean I guess if I touted these movies as my personal favorites or super fine wonderful films that maybe it would be a problem but as it is I'm just watching them trying to see what the big deal is with them. Maybe they are just one of those things that I won't ever really get. Like how my friends love Mr. Bean I understand why they like it and why they think it's funny but I don't appreciate it at all. Or how most people love Mel Brooks movies. I kind of hate Mel Brooks movies. I don't find them funny at all I mean I get how people would find them funny but to me they are just lame and kinda boring.

I'm sorry this isn't much of a confession after all...Damn it...I'll try better next time.

Update: So I reread this and it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I think what I was really trying to say was I pretend to like things because people I think are cool like them and I'm not sure what that says about me. I think it says that I'm insecure and want to be like other people.

First New Blog Post

So today I decided to start a little blog about my boring life. I'm sure it will be thrilling to all of you who read it. Really I will promise to try and make it interesting but only try I can't promise it will be interesting. At some point I will try and put up pictures and the whole shebang but right now I'm at work so that really isn't possible. So I guess I will just say hello to all and welcome to my boring life that I will try and make at least a little interesting.



OH I know what I can tell you about I'm freaking out because I have to give a presentation tomorrow and I don't want to do it. I really hate public speaking it's probably my greatest fear. I mean really it's bad I get so nervous I almost vomit. So tomorrow I get to stand up in front of all my co-workers and talk about something I'm not really that sure about. It's not fun at all but hopefully this will be the last time for a while that I have to get up in front of the whole big group and talk hopefully anyway.

So yeah I guess I will end my first official blog on this site now before I ramble on anymore.
